Professional Bio
Professor Liz Lobb has a PhD in Psychological Medicine from the University of Sydney and 28 years’ experience in psycho-oncology, palliative care and bereavement research, clinical practice and education. She has expertise in conducting multi-site clinical trials with vulnerable populations and has developed patient information materials; carer psycho-social and educational interventions, decision-making tools and communication guidelines in oncology. She established National and International collaborations in genetics, palliative care and psycho-oncology. She is a former Executive member of the Palliative Care Network of the Agency for Clinical Innovation and the Executive Committee of Palliative Care NSW. She is a member of clinical trials research groups such as the Palliative Care Clinical Studies Collaborative, the Psycho-oncology Co-operative Research Group, Co-operative Trials Group for Neuro-oncology and the SPHERE Clinical Academic Group in Palliative Care. She has led an MRFF Grant on Bereavement outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Internationally recognised for her research in bereavement she is a member of the International Work Group on Death Dying & Bereavement. Liz retired from Calvary Health Care Kogarah in December 2022 and holds an Adjunct position with the Faculty of Health at the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia.
