Margaret’s long and diverse career has encompassed clinical, management, research and education roles. She was inaugural Vivian Bullwinkel Chair in Palliative Care Nursing, at Monash University for 12 years; and she remains at Monash as Emeritus Professor and continues clinical research work at Melbourne City Mission Palliative Care. She has more than 160 peer-reviewed and other publications and serves on a number of Australian and international committees, including Chair of Palliative Care South-East in Melbourne. In 2005 Margaret was honoured with an Order of Australia (AM) and in 2018, she was awarded a Winston Churchill Fellowship to study palliative care and assisted dying in a number of countries.
