The Compassionate Communities movement is founded on the understanding that we all have a role to play when it comes to illness, caring, death and grief.

A core strategy for building Compassionate Communities is to engage local government in developing a Compassionate Charter. 

This presentation will explore how we can engage local government to develop a Charter. It will also provide concrete examples of how to move from a statement of intent to action. The Compassionate Bunbury Charter is accompanied by a Toolkit which celebrates what Bunbury is already doing and shares ideas on how we can grow compassion further. The Compassionate Pledge initiative provides a mechanism for individuals, friends, community groups and organisations to connect and share with each other on how they are contributing to making Bunbury a more Compassionate Community.
