Professional Bio
Associate Professor Michelle DiGiacomo applies her background in behavioural health and psychology to research that centres on people living with chronic conditions, their carers, and the design and delivery of services for priority populations, including health care workforce capacity strengthening. A central focus of hers is the interface of health and social services and carers, the unpaid family or friends, who are an integral part of care. Her work underscores the importance of striving for inclusive services and interactions and tailoring support to meet diverse needs and preferences to ensure safe, high quality, culturally appropriate care. She is the Course Director of Palliative Care programs at UTS and the Higher Degree Research Coordinator for IMPACCT in the Faculty of Health.
