Ms Kate Reed

Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner - Specialist Palliative and Supportive Care Department

Professional Bio

I am a passionate Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner clinician and current Masters of Law student at the Australian National University. After many years as a Critical Care Nurse, I did my Masters in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) and have been working clinically in the field since 2011 both in Australia and abroad. I have executive experience as the National Clinical Advisor for Palliative Care Australia and in consulting, providing high level advice and guidance on palliative care provision, health strategy and models of care to government, NGO's and leading peak bodies. I have worked internationally for the IAHPC as the Australian Focal Point to advocate for palliative care provisions as part of Universal Health Care delivery focusing on the Western Pacific Region and am now developing that work focusing my professional goals on developing legal strategy and policy to embed sustainable and equitable access to essential medicines to relieve suffering in Australia and in the Oceanic region.
