Founded in 1885 by the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary, Calvary is a charitable, not-for-profit, Catholic health care organisation. We’re responsible for over 12,000 staff and volunteers, 15 Public and Private Hospitals, 17 Retirement and Aged Care Facilities and a national network of Community Care Centres.
Our mission is to provide quality, compassionate health care to the most vulnerable, including people reaching the end of their life and their families, carers and communities. Calvary has established a number of initiatives to support excellence in palliative care, including the Palliative and End of Life Care Research Institute.
The Institute connects clinicians and researchers from specialist palliative care services across Calvary’s public hospital network who contribute to a growing body of research including symptom management and psychosocial aspects of palliative and end of life care. Calvary’s researchers work closely with National and State research collaborations.
