Dr Rosalie Shaw OAM is a Palliative Care Consultant and former Executive Director of Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network 1999 – 2009.
Dr Roslie Shaw OAM established the Palliative Care Unit at Hollywood Repatriation General Hospital in 1981 and was later appointed at Senior Lecturer in Palliative Care in the Department of Community Practice, Faculty of Medicine, University of Western Australia. From 1992 until 2010 she was based in Singapore and was involved in the establishment of palliative care services in Asia as Medical Director of Hospice Care Association 1992 – 1998, Medical Director of Dover Park Hospice 1996 – 1998, Visiting Consultant KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital 1997 – 2009, Consultant, Department of Palliative Medicine, National Cancer Centre Singapore, Executive Director of Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network 1999 – 2009. On returning to Australia in 2010 Dr Shaw joined Barwon Health (Geelong) as a Consultant Palliative Care Physician.
On 26 January 2011, Dr Shaw was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for her contribution to medicine.
