Ria Earp is the Chair of Te Rōpū Taki Māori (the Hospice NZ Māori support and advisory group) and is also ‘Advisor, Māori Services’ for Hospice New Zealand (a part-time role). Ria left Mary Potter Hospice in 2017, where she had been the Chief Executive for eleven years. Prior to taking up the role in Mary Potter Hospice, she was the Deputy Director General, Māori Health for the Ministry of Health for nine years. Ria is also in advisory roles or committees for:  Health Quality & Safety Commission NZ, Capital & Coast District Health Board and Wellington Free Ambulance Board.  Ria has a deep interest in Māori community development, social and health services. She has a BA (Anthropology), MA (Applied in Social Work) and MBA from Victoria University, Wellington. Ria is of Te Arawa tribal descent.
