Optional events

Dying Well

Community Forum hosted by PCWA

Monday 9 September | 6.30 – 8.00pm
The University Club Auditorium, UWA

A good death gives people dignity, choice and support to address their physical, personal, social and spiritual
needs. However, if people are reluctant to speak up about the way they would like to die, they risk experiencing a disconnected and confusing array of services, unwanted treatment interventions and increasing the pressure and distress of family and loved ones. In this community forum our expert panel will explore local and international perspectives on what it means to die well and what is needed to increase our focus on end of life care.

Yoga & Meditation

Wednesday 11 September | 6.30 – 7.30am

Even on those mornings when you can barely drag yourself out of bed (we’ve been there), come to your mat—or simply the grass—for this sequence that anyone can do (no experience or toe-touching flexibility required!). Not only will these feel-good poses perk you up, but you’ll walk away feeling centred, focused and ready to own the day.

This activity is free

The Apple Daily Bar & Eating House

Named after Hong Kong’s popular daily newspaper, Apple Daily serves up exotic Asian street food. Apple Daily has earned it’s reputation as one of the best Asian restaurants in Perth’s CBD. The menu has been designed for sharing with a selection of snacks, large plates, sides and desserts. The beverage menu features beers, wines, sparkling and spirits from all over the world, including Taiwanese whiskey, sake and house-made liquor.

Lalla Rookh

A modern Italian menu is influenced by Head Chef, Alexandra Haynes’ experiences throughout Italy; drawing on seasonal and coastal cues, not a point on a map.  Alexandra’s experiences have led her to create a menu that reveres produce, tradition and creativity in equal measure. Alexandra’s approach to food is steeped in her experience of seasons spent exploring the landscape of Italy, drawing on memories of sharing meals with family and friends, and uncovering culinary variation throughout the regions. At Lalla Rookh she draws on the best produce from land and sea, to create a fresh, modern Italian menu that is adored by many.
